📦 About the Collection

The collection was originally posted to r/Caustic3 by BeatJunk under the title:

ULTIMATE CAUSTIC PRESETS COLLECTION 7GB

The uploader described the collection as containing:

"all the presets from singlecellsoftware.com up to 2/2/2019"

and stated that it should be "basically everything ever available on the site."

The post also stated that the collection included the free Caustic packs that had been available through the Google Play Store, as well as some skins.

The Caustic 3 Archive preserves these statements as part of the collection's historical provenance. The claim of completeness has not been independently verified and is not presented by the Archive as an established fact.

🗃️ The Preservation Mirror

The Archive obtained the collection from the original Google Drive download.

The downloaded material arrived as 15 ZIP archives generated by Google Drive. These ZIP files were subsequently extracted so that the contents could be examined and processed as a collection.

The 7 GB name is retained because it is the original community name of the collection. The measured size of the preserved copy is documented separately rather than replacing the historical name.

The purpose of this mirror is to preserve the collection itself, rather than only the native Caustic preset files extracted from it.

The collection contains a mixture of material, including:

🔬 Collection Research

The preserved collection has also become a major real-world test corpus for the Caustic 3 Archive's preset-processing tools.

The collection is being examined for:

• Native Caustic preset identification

• Machine-type identification

• Exact content duplicates

• Practical sound classification

• Supporting/non-preset files

• Binary preset structures

• Metadata extraction

• Development and regression testing of the Archive's sorting tools

The current processing produced a separate Preset Reference Set containing 1,943 unique native Caustic presets.

This processed reference set is a derived research result. It does not replace the preserved collection.

The Archive distinguishes between what the original uploader claimed, what was received, and what subsequent analysis established.

Original claim

The collection was presented by its uploader as a 7 GB collection containing essentially everything available from Single Cell Software up to 2 February 2019.

Observed data

The copy obtained by the Caustic 3 Archive consisted of 15 Google Drive-generated ZIP archives containing 3,111 extracted files/items occupying 4.60 GB.

Research results

Subsequent processing identified native Caustic presets, supporting files and duplicate content and produced a separate research reference set.

The Archive does not treat the original completeness claim as independently verified.

Evidence is preferred over assumption, and uncertainty is documented rather than hidden.

🏛️ Why This Mirror Matters

Collections such as this can disappear when their original hosting disappears, links stop working or personal backups are lost.

Preserving the collection in a stable archival environment provides another surviving copy while retaining the historical provenance of the material.

The goal is not to rewrite the collection or replace its original identity.
